ERP Applications Manager / Senior ERP Application Consultant
Location: 12+ days onsite a month at Portland, ME.
Duration: 6+ months contract to (Hire)
Interview: 3 rounds.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ERP Applications Manager to take charge of our entire enterprise application suite, with a particular focus on Banner (specifically the Banner 9 environment) and its associated integrations. This pivotal role involves overseeing 4 on-site full-time employees (FTEs) and guiding the broader team in the support, maintenance, and integration of approximately 45 applications, including core SIS, door access, medical information systems, reporting tools, and eco integrations.
A significant responsibility of this position will be driving and managing our strategic migration toward a Software as a Service (SaaS) model for our enterprise systems—a large and critical university project. The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative leader, fostering a "guide on the side" approach to team management and mentorship, rather than a top-down, "main person on stage" management style.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Strategic Oversight: Manage and be responsible for the entire enterprise application suite and related integrations.
Project Leadership: Drive the technical outcomes and needs of the organization's large-scale migration to a SaaS environment.
Team Guidance: Oversee and guide a team of 4 on-site FTEs, as well as leverage support from the rest of the application team for updates, integrations, and support.
System Management: Maintain and manage on-premise Banner applications (Banner 9 version combination focus) and ensure seamless operation of all integrated 3rd-party applications (approx. 45 total).
Consulting & Implementation (ERP Application Consultant role):
Analyze customer/user business requirements and objectives, working with stakeholders to meet those objectives.
Implement and configure ERP applications and modules.
Analyze client business processes and collect relevant data for implementation.
Conduct on-site and/or remote implementation of web-based ERP applications.
Train end users in specific modules of the ERP application suite.
Prepare and maintain all project documentation, including manuals, query data, and issue logs.
Assist customers with application testing and rollout processes.
Recommend business process improvements and specify application enhancements with the customer/stakeholder.
Higher Education Experience: Must have a strong understanding of the higher education landscape, Student Information Systems (SIS), and higher education processes.
Education:
A Bachelor's or Associate's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred and may reduce the required years of experience.
Technical Expertise:
Mandatory experience with Banner applications (version 9 preferred).
Proficiency in integrations of Banner and various 3rd-party applications (e.g., door access, medical information, reporting tools).
