Embedded Software Engineer / ILE 4 (#5405)

 

Are you familiar with a multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts? Our client is among the world’ s largest automakers, from electric cars to heavy-duty full-size trucks, they provide a complete range of vehicles that meets the needs and expectations of drivers on a global scale. 

 

The Embedded Software Engineer will be working on Infotainment systems quality, reliability, and durability (QRD). Embedded software development throughout the entire software lifecycle – planning, requirements, design, coding, testing, defect resolution, and release into mass production:
  • Automotive Infotainment requirements analysis to create embedded software designs
  • Design and develop embedded software for GM Infotainment module in an Agile environment
  • Develop software code packages in Java, C, and/or C++ in real time operating system environments (Android, AUTOSAR)
  • Develop and execute test cases for unit, integration, and functional software testing
  • Implement and test software designs on a PC environment as well as on embedded target hardware
  • Analysis, resolution, and tracking of defects to closure

 

Qualifications
  • Familiar with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools
  • Working knowledge of configuration management / revision control tools, issue-tracking tools, compilers, in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, hardware / software analysis tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CANalyzer, CANOE etc.), code static analysis tools, real-time operating systems
  • Desired knowledge and experience in automotive network architectures (GMLAN, LIN, EAVB)
  • Desired knowledge and experience in AUTOSAR architecture, implementation, and associated toolchains.
  • Solid fundamental computer science skills and strong programming skills
  • Experience with IBM Jazz / Rational Team Concert (RTC) environment
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage the testing of automotive electronics products
  • Working knowledge of the software engineering life cycle and Agile methodology
  • Working knowledge of software project planning and test plan development and execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience optimizing performance and memory usage on embedded systems
  • Experienced team player with demonstrated ability working on large project teams 
  • Must have a positive attitude, good oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability working in a large project team environment
  • Minimum of five years of experience in job-related area
  • Experienced in all aspects of Design and Development of Automotive Electronic Controllers (ECUs), especially of Audio Systems, their application and integration in Vehicle Design
  • Experienced with Software and Calibrations work and Vehicle Serial Data Communication using LAN, LIN, and MOST networks
  • Bachelor’ s Degree

 

Location:             Warren, MI

Duration:            Long-term contract (12 months plus)
