ektello is looking for an Embedded Software Developer for one of the most iconic client in Warren, Michigan. Our client is among the world’ s largest automakers. They’ re a multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts. From electric cars to heavy-duty full-size trucks, they provide a complete range of vehicles that meets the needs and expectations of drivers on a global scale.  

  • Automotive Infotainment requirements analysis to create embedded software designs.
  • Design and develop embedded software for our client’ s Infotainment module in an Agile environment.
  • Develop software code packages in Java, C, and/or C++ in Android environment.
  • Develop and execute test cases for unit, integration, and functional software testing.
  • Implement and test software designs on a PC environment as well as on embedded target hardware.
  • Analysis, resolution, and tracking of defects to closure.
  • Pro-actively interact with multiple tier 1 suppliers to coordinate software build releases. 
  • Define and document system level issues between components of the subsystem. 
  • Interact with suppliers to resolve system issues. 
  • Review test logs to determine where subsystem issues reside. 
  • Coordinate system software releases to other development groups within the company. 
  • Run integration meetings, create minute, create and track action item lists. 
  • Travel as needed to support suppliers. 
  • Troubleshoot Captured Test Fleet issues. 

  • Experienced in all aspects of Design and Development of Automotive Electronic Controllers (ECUs), especially of Audio Systems, their application and integration in Vehicle Design. 
  • Experienced with Software and Calibrations work and Vehicle Serial Data Communication using LAN, LIN, and MOST networks. 
  • Experience with common electrical test equipment (meter, scopes, etc.).
  • Experience with the GMLAN serial data communication protocol.
  • Experience with common serial data test equipment (CAT, SCAT, NeoVI, SDATT, DiComPhySys, DPS Tool, etc.).
  • Experience with automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
  • Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals.
  • Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to Audio Systems.
  • 6-8 years’ experience in job-related area.
  • BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience. 
  • Familiar with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management / revision control tools, issue-tracking tools, compilers, in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, hardware / software analysis tools, code static analysis tools, real-time operating systems.
  • Solid fundamental computer science skills and strong programming skills.
  • Experience with IBM Jazz / RTC environment.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage the testing of automotive electronics products.
  • Working knowledge of the software engineering life cycle and Agile methodology.
  • Working knowledge of software project planning and test plan development and execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience optimizing performance and memory usage on embedded systems.
  • Experienced team player with demonstrated ability working on large project teams. 
  • Must have a positive attitude, good oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability working in a large project team environment.
