Position: Virtualization Core Platform SME
Location: Remote until further notice – Plano, TX
Duration: 13-months +
Position Summary:
- Must have: Must have minimum 5 years of experience in system test and technical customer support, good understanding of LTE EPC, SA 5GC and NFV concept, be able to understand feature requirement/design document and create test procedure. Extensive experience with IPv6, IPv4, switches, routers, and firewalls are required. Strong experience with NFV Platform and VNF based core systems.
- The position is to perform system test, prepare packages release documents, support customer acceptance test and field deployment and provide Tier-3 support
- System level feature integration and verification, inter-operability test with external elements, developing and performing test plans, troubleshooting, and analyzing problems in customers lab and production systems, new system deployment and commissioning new system as well as 24x7 on-call support
- To qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:
- Must have minimum 5 years of experience in system test and technical customer support, good understanding of LTE EPC, SA 5GC and NFV concept, be able to understand feature requirement/design document and create test procedure.
- Extensive experience with IPv6, IPv4, switches, routers, and firewalls are required.

Necessary Skills/Attributes
- Experience with Red Hat Linux OS 7.5+ with OS installation and troubleshooting skill
- Experience with OpenStack (Redhat or other distributions), Red Hat Director or other cloud management frameworks (deployment, configuration, operations)
- Experience with network monitoring tool such as Nagies, Grafana, Prometheus, etc
- Strong understanding of OpenStack, DevOps, NFV, CNF, K8s, MANO technology
- Disk Management features and familiarity with SAN storage, HP MSA, and other
- Load balancing and security functionalities of OpenStack and SDN controller
- Must have knowledge of OpenStack deployment, VM environment, and troubleshooting
- Good IP knowledge and routing protocol, IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, ECMP, OSPF, VLAN, IPSec, NAT, IP forwarding
- Networking Features including use of Open vSwitch, Cisco Nexus switch, SR-IOV, and Intels Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), virtual NICs. Provide solutions for network resiliency and improved performance.
- Hypervisor Performance Management - optimize NFVs using Core Pinning, Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA), and Guest Isolation in Multi-Tenant scenarios, familiar with Intels Virtualization Technology (Intel VT, VT-X) to optimize NFV functions
- Experience of Tomcat and WEB GUI is plus
- In depth understanding of EPC and SA 5GC architecture (AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, SDSF, UDSF, etc)
- LTE Call Flow and 5GC Call Flow Diagnostics
- LTE Core Interface, S1, S6a, S11, DNS, Gx, Gy, S2a, S5/S8, S6b, SGi, S1-U, NAS, GTP-U, GTP, DIAMETER, RADIUS, and others
- SIP, IMS, and IP telephony standards
- Exposure to programming in Python, Java, Perl, and Unix/Linux shell scripting is plus
- Exposure to commercial test simulators and test systems such as Spirent, Aeroflex, Tektronix
- Strong knowledge of Wireshark or other IP protocol analyzer
- Exposure to Cisco router configuration is plus
