ektello is passionate about leading the search for the next Records Management Specialist in New York City to join our client the leading Cancer Research Hospital in the area. This role is an exciting opportunity for a Records Management Specialist to participate and make an impact in an industry that is genuinely impacting the worlds’ health!

  • Perform  daily review and data entry of obituaries, create tribute records, and notify appropriate staff of VIP or mentions of our institution in obituaries.
  • Answer complex questions and requests made by constituents who call on the general department line. Assist donors by identifying needs, answering, resolving or routing calls appropriately, speaking, clearly, distinctly, and with a friendly, courteous tone.
  • Respond to written requests  from donors by communicating directly with the donors whenever the response requires no specialized follow-up from other Development Department management or staff.
  • Process credit card donations by telephone. 
  • Log and scan donations received in GADS to be deposited into the Development bank account daily.
  • Analyze and research address data on returned correspondence and revise inaccurate or outdated address in the fundraising database.
  • Manage the monthly implementation of the change-of-address, deceasing and apartment-append data,  and keep prospect managers apprised of all relevant address updates.

  • Minimum High School Diploma required (an Associate' s Degree is preferred).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a high-volume, non-profit service environment.
  • A pleasant phone demeanor, patient and friendly approach, and a can-do attitude are required.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office and other standard desktop applications required. 
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is a must. 
  • The ability to be accurate in interpreting and entering data is essential as is a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume processing environment required.
  • Awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity and differences in learning styles required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
