ektello is searching for a Sr. Manager of UX and Design to work for one of our top hospitality and tourism clients in Miami, FL. Our client is one of the top cruise line operators in the world!

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers on the consumer journey, mapping our user’ s experience out and creating product and experience artifacts including wireframes, information architecture, interaction flows, interactive prototypes, low-fidelity concepts, and product briefs, as well as gathered user research including usability test findings.

  • Implementing usability and experience design best practices for new and existing products and services across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.   Lead research of the latest eCommerce, web, and mobile best practices and strategy to understand and solve customer needs and barriers.

  • Define and facilitate the process for experience design, including requirements gathering and research methods, both within product teams and development, as well as among external stakeholders in marketing and the broader organization.

  • Acts as customer advocate gathering original and secondary research to support product owner and experience design team efforts, including but not limited to journey mapping, survey design, usability facilitation.

  • Supports the Director of Digital Experience in architecting and executing on a single guest experience across content and products, while advancing that experience to keep up with customer behavior, technology, and trends.

  • Maintaining the high-quality standards of the Royal Caribbean brand in the production of user experience solutions that result in a continual lift in conversion rates and improved satisfaction scores.

  • Creating compelling stories to support proposed solutions that support our user-centered design approach and capture internal clients and colleagues imaginations to gain buy-in.

  • Collaborating closely with planners, designers, and developers to help shape solutions and to rapidly visualize a proposition, through sketching, wireframing, and prototyping.

  • Works with multiple groups to solve complex user problems by leading and running collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to conceive, describe, and craft useful digital products and services.

  • Producing detailed user experience deliverables from user personas and journeys, wireframes, site maps and user flows to functional specifications, content maps, and matrixes

  • Development of user experience solutions for use in A/B testing to optimize goal completion rates

  • Continual improvement of internal user experience processes and methodologies by adopting the latest developments in the UX community and wider digital industry to keep Royal Caribbean on the cutting edge of experience design

Experience:

  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Marketing or Technology

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in digital product management and strategy, experience design and information architecture of websites, apps or other interactive products

  • 5+ years experience working in a UX or Digital Strategy role at an agency or client-side product team

  • 5+ years leading strategy and execution of digital products for or within a large organization

  • 3+ years conducting user research and usability testing to identify opportunities for enhancement

  • 3+ years leading a team of experienced designers and strategists

  • Advanced knowledge of prototyping tools including Invision, Principle, Zeplin.io, Proto.io or Craft

  • Advanced knowledge of product testing techniques including usability, A/B and multivariate testing

  • Strong understanding of design tools such as Photoshop, Indesign, Sketch

  • Strong understanding of design fundamentals including layout, typography, and color

  • Strong understanding of technical front-end development technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap, and Responsive design frameworks such as Foundation

  • Solid understanding of web analytics (Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, CoreMetrics, WebTrends) and how they inform product enhancements

Experience working on at least one of the following:

  • Large enterprise-level marketing sites with deep content marketing, an eCommerce or booking funnel, rich product content catalogs, and features including calendar, facets, tag management, and feeds from other core business systems

  • International eCommerce sites with experience troubleshooting issues and understanding complex product catalog-related integrations with other applications

  • A lifestyle brand as a branded manufacturer with a direct channel or a retailer’ s eCommerce channel

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of IA + content strategy, prototyping, UX process and wireframing, usability testing, concept briefing, and customer research

  • Functional understanding of development and front-end technology, content management, analytics, testing, and optimization

  • Ability to liaison with external stakeholders in creative processes, and strong ability to partner with creative teams

  • Wide breadth and depth of experience in developing digital responses to complex client problems across all digital media

  • Extensive experience of planning and costing projects and designing collaborative appropriate and imaginative delivery processes, agreeing deliverables

  • Significant experience of leading, inspiring and managing teams and being responsible for the overall UX delivery

  • Comfortable leading design processes, approach, and techniques for projects

  • Experience in crafting creative solutions

  • Comfortable rapidly sketching concepts and prototypes as well as producing formal UX deliverables i.e. wireframes and sitemaps

  • Experience writing functional specifications and producing a detailed content matrix

  • Experience of user testing/research and the ability to interpret results and provide recommendations

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Experience producing wireframe designs including annotation of designs as part of the specification document write up

  • Solid track record of setting best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as demonstrated leadership in usability principles and techniques

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience in facilitating and co-facilitating workshops
