ektello is looking for a Systems/Data Analyst for one of our top multimedia clients in Universal City, California. Our client boasts an impressive portfolio of news and entertainment television networks, world-renowned theme parks, a prominent motion picture company, and much more

  • Analyze data for Home Entertainment website analytics engagements. Responsible for metric definition, omniture analysis and implementation support, data analysis and recommendations.
  • Proactively conduct site performance analysis such as user session analysis; highlight observations and business context to deliver actionable recommendations to business leads
  • Analyze website and AKAMAI log data using Omniture, Adobe site catalyst, Google analytics etc. and conduct recurring website data analysis and comparison to retailer log data to drive KPIs. Use website analytic tools to understand the user flow, drop off points, landing and exit session analysis and present areas for improvements
  • Gather and document business requirements that define scope and objective of the Nextgen reporting metrics along with the detailed design for the rules and transformations that need to be created by the data warehouse team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Nextgen business teams
  • Write SQL queries to extract and analyze data and build reports to present insights on business results. Use SQL and/or other data discovery tools to analyze the data and define the specification for technical components that need to be created
  • Utilize reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI to streamline report generation for cross-functional teams
  • Perform pre- analysis of websites and landing pages by reviewing available analytics as well as applying knowledge of website marketing best practices
  • Own the day-to-day operational activities for supporting the digital reporting applications
  • Conduct meetings and interviews, and facilitate cross-functional sessions with business and IT partners
  • Coordinate with website development agencies and business stakeholders in website projects
  • Participate in data preparation and collaborate with data warehouse team to transform and integrate data across multiple systems

  • 3+ years of data analytics experience and expertise with digital analytics tools, such as Omniture Site Catalyst, Adobe Analytics
  • Solid understanding of digital data and experience with analyzing large data sets (using Excel or other tools)
  • Strong data analysis skillset with the ability to use tools to analyze structured and unstructured data
  • Strong Excel skillset with hands-on experience managing complex workbooks
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts including data modeling, ETL, and reporting components
  • Self-motivated creative and original thinker
  • Ability to learn new technologies with a desire to have hands-on experience implementing solutions with an understanding of the business value that it provides
  • Bachelor’ s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business or related field
  • Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate with both leadership teams and end-users
  • Experience with Media & Entertainment or a packaged media industry
  • Familiarity with Big data analytic platforms including knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem and Hive database
  • Experience with data warehouse and business intelligence architectures including Teradata, Informatica, MicroStrategy, and Tableau
  • Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile Scrum project management processes and methodologies
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work on assigned tasks independently, leveraging team members and resources as necessary
