ektello is currently hiring a Design Program Manager (UX Platform) for one of the most unique travel clients in San Francisco, CA. Our client is looking for creative problem solvers and great communicators that understand the needs of a fast-paced product design org. As a DPM your primary objective is to make the design organization as effective as possible. You’ ll be responsible for developing and applying just the right amount of process for your teams. With a strong appreciation for the practice and procedure of design, you understand the multiple disciplines that go into a successful product. You bring creativity to the operational aspects of a design team and deal with solving the “ how,” freeing up your design lead peers to focus on crafting the “ what.” You will define how design interacts with cross-functional teams and be an advocate at all times.

 • Serve as " right hand" to the Group Design Lead as a source of organized information
 • Provide strategic input on the scope, resourcing, and sequencing of large bodies of work
 • Manage stakeholders' expectations and competing priorities, to ensure the team has a clear and sustainable workload
 • Identify and predict obstacles, collisions, and risk to projects across multiple teams and seek solutions to eliminate them
 • Ensure pertinent information is communicated and understood by stakeholders and leadership
 • Own the creation and management of high-level design timelines
 • Provide up-to-date visibility into current projects, resource utilization, team performance and UX health across your teams
 • Continuously evolve our client' s design process and tools to adapt to changing needs. Includes meeting, communication and activity structures, project templates and meeting cadences
 • Facilitate strategic stakeholder meetings including preparing agendas, keeping conversation on-track. Establishing and documenting outcomes and action items
 • Define and manage how the design team interfaces with other functions such as product management, engineering, and marketing
 • Drive integration of the various disciplines within the design org (research, content strategy, localization, production design)
 • Uphold standards and enforce product quality drivers like accessibility, localization, internationalization, trust, and anti-discrimination
 • Identify opportunities to build and apply systems and tooling that deliver product quality at scale
 • Establish team member onboarding and education programs

 • Cultivate, negotiate and manage relationships with external contractors and agencies. Includes contract execution and financial reporting
 • Develop, implement and manage project plans for select high priority projects; create detailed work breakdowns, establish deadlines and communicate key milestones
 • Maintain up-to-date design alignment artifacts, diagrams, and other boundary objects which keep our team on message and in step
 • Help team members stay on track and accountable to their work and milestones
 • Cultivate a constructive critique environment and a scalable approval process for moving any work from feedback through to implementation.
 • Facilitate a culture of collaboration and teamwork
 • 5+ years Program Management, Product Management, Project Management or relevant experience in a cross-functional (pm, design &   eng) product driven organization or digital agency
 • Systems thinking and previous experience with design system teams considered a plus
 • Track record of managing and shipping impactful design initiatives in a large digital product org
 • In-depth knowledge of and appreciation for the Product Design process
 • Background establishing systems, supporting teams, and developing relationships
 • Demonstrable skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, presentation and conflict resolution
 • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with experience interacting with senior leadership
 • A high-level of attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
 • Competent with JIRA, Asana or equivalent. Must be able to manage a ticket queue
 • Passionate and enthusiastic about excellence and attention to detail
 • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fluid organization
 • A cool, collected demeanor with a smile in the face of adversity
 • Seeks out opportunities for self-development and continuing education
 • Goes above and beyond prescribed duties as and when required
 • Willingness to travel
