Validation Engineer (Chassis) / Lead Engineer 2

ektello is looking for a Validation Engineer for one of the most iconic client in Warren, MI. Our client is among the world’ s largest automakers. They’ re a multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts. From electric cars to heavy-duty full-size trucks, they provide a complete range of vehicles that meets the needs and expectations of drivers on a global scale.  

Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor and confirm completion of AVDP&R Plans and test schedules
  • Support Quality Processes
  • Capture and Submit Lessons Learned
  • Support ADV process to reduce Hardware and to realize RLM (Road- Lab-Math) strategy
  • Manage Export validation activities in foreign countries with local partners
  • Support Vehicle Validation
  • Coordinate work with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Participate in Problem Solving Teams
  • Participate in DFMEA work groups
  • Create and Manage Vehicle and/or Commodity ADV Sub plans
  • Review Program/Process Results with program team/leadership as required and at program milestones
  • Analyzes and interprets resulting data from tests (determines data anomalies)
  • Maintains frequent communication with customers
  • Frequent contact with others outside of work group
  • Create MVSS documentation as required
  • Develops the means for subjective evaluation of vehicle systems or components under test 
  • Analyzes data to ensure that correct conclusions are reached 
  • Develops major hardware proposals to carry out test activities 
  • Directs a team of test engineers and technicians on specific programs 
  • Coordinates the acquisition and deployment of engineering tools and human resources for major test or development programs 
  • Originates unique approaches to solution of experimental investigations 
  • Integrates sophisticated measurement systems with test hardware 
  • Regular contract with others outside the work group 
     

Qualifications
  • Knowledge in MS Word - Intermediate 
  • Knowledge in MS Excel - Intermediate 
  • Knowledge in MS PowerPoint - Intermediate 
  • Knowledge of email communication tool (i.e., Yahoo, Lotus Notes) – Intermediate 
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations 
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills  
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently 
  • Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback 
  • Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas 
  • Advanced ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis where problems are more complex 
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Expert in all aspects of experimental test techniques, including analytical, physical subjective evaluation of components under investigation 
  • Ability to utilize expert level of competence when using computer-aided data gathering systems 
  • Expert ability to originate complete program definitions for assigned investigations 
  • Thorough understanding of relationship of design, build, and test cycles in organization 
  • Position related experience in engineering - 11 years 
  • Relevant auto industry experience required – 5-7 years’ experience 
  • Past client work experience required - < 1-year experience Areas of expertise include: Testing, Design, Analysis 
  • BS in Engineering with 3-5 years related work experience, or equivalent work experience required
  • Must have valid driver' s license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Test or validation experience
  • Design or Release experience
  • Automotive chassis experience - design, development, test and/or validation.
  • Automotive supplier experience, Contract Engineer experience, Test Engineer Experience
  • Familiar with CAE
  • Familiar with Manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with automotive suppliers or external organizations
  • Knowledge of our client’ s organization structure (who does what), our client’ s validation process, basic client design process, Vehicle Physical Partition Structure
  • Ability to work in PQMS, PRTS, Vis Mock up, E-squared, GSTS
  • DFSS Green Belt
  • Advance Degree in Technical field.
