IBM AS400 OS400 Engineer
**W2 contract** HYBRID remote/onsite out of Southfield, MI**
SUMMARY
  • Server monitoring – Orion / Nagios & SCOM.
  • Management of installed software license agreements.
  • Life cycle management for server and software.
  • Firmware / Core code upgrades.
  • Ability to manage project work to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Response to incidents.
  • Resolve outages in the core infrastructure.
  • Work to process using our internal ticketing systems.
  • Manage, Diagnose and trouble shoot issues with software and hardware.
  • Manage third party providers to ensure minimal down time.
  • Analysis and review of delivered hardware to ensure consistent standards.
  • Member of team managing always-on, multi-site infrastructure.
  • Assist in capacity planning for all aspects of the infrastructure.
  • Design systems with IBM Business Partner to meet Lear Infrastructure requirements.
  • Obtain quotes for hardware/software licenses, and maintenance agreements and submit them into the purchasing system.
                  
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining IBM OS400.
  • User support to include user ID creation and maintenance.
  • Audit support internal, external and SOX.
  • Disaster recovery with 3rd party software Itera / Mimix across multiple systems and LPARs.
  • Daily monitoring of 3rd party software Itera / Mimix across multiple systems and LPARs.
  • IBM BRMS Backup, restore daily / monthly monitoring and configuring and support.
  • On call support.
  • Monitoring system logs.
  • Monitoring systems for program halts and hardware errors and acting upon them.
  • Maintain system accounts IBM and service account passwords.
  • Maintaining OS400 job scheduler and IBM advanced job scheduler.
  • Work daily / weekly / monthly tasks using our internal ticketing systems
