ektello is working with an entertainment leader in Orlando, FL to find a Mechanical CAD Designer to join their growing team. 

This role is a  W2 contract and the team is Onsite Monday-Friday.  We offer PTO, paid holidays, medical, and 401k benefit options.

Qualifications:
Mechanical CAD DESIGNER - This position is for a Mechanical CAD Designer, NOT A CAD ENGINEER. The applicant should have a Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CAD Designer, in design, support, and installation of dynamic mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic integrated systems.
 
  • AutoCAD certification and formal training required.
  • Inventor experience.
  • Highly knowledgeable on the development of individual parts, weldments, and assemblies. A clear understanding of GD&T is necessary.

Responsibilities:
Provides technical support through completion of Ride & Show design projects and working closely and effectively with other departments / divisions. All work is expected to be carried out in pre-established guidelines in performance of his/her duties including strict adherence to the Engineering Drawing Standards.

Responsible for creating detail, weldment, assembly, and installation drawings, as required, to complete project. Works with minimal supervision. Projects may include redesigning mechanical and structural elements for Rides & Show. The Mechanical Designer is qualified to act as liaison for fabrication/installation of projects.
 
  • Completes design modifications for mechanical and structural systems at the Rides and Attractions to enhance guest comfort, reliability, and quality.
  • Ensures all designs comply with industry standards for fabrication and machining practices, including ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, and JIC, among others.
  • Assists engineers with observations, field measurements, design, and testing.
  • Provides vendor interfacing and resolves production problems with vendors.
  • Plans and lays out project tasks for increased productivity and effectiveness.
  • Provides design review support to engineers and designers for accuracy, tolerance stack-up, form and fit, ease of manufacture and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assists Technical Services Central Shops and/or field technicians with information and drawing clarification as necessary.
  • Acts as liaison for fabrication and installation of projects.
  • Reviews drawings for accuracy, conformity, fit, tolerance, and adherence to applicable standards of geometric tolerance, weld symbols, fit and clearance conventions, proper fastener specifications and usage, finish, radii, etc.
