Volunteer Resources Coordinator - Healthcare Client (Onsite)
Location: New York, New York | Department: Volunteer Resources

Scope: 4-month w2 contract with high potential to extend or convert. Includes options for medical, dental, and vision benefits, and PTO 

Hourly Rate Range: $24-$26

Overview
The Volunteer Resources Coordinator plays a key role in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and managing volunteers across 15+ departments. This position operates much like an HR Recruiter, supporting applicant screening, placement, compliance, and ongoing engagement. It’s an ideal opportunity for candidates interested in HR, recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding within a mission-driven healthcare environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Interview, assess, and place volunteer applicants based on departmental needs

  • Conduct 5+ interviews weekly and guide candidates through next steps

  • Manage volunteer onboarding, training, and compliance (HIPAA, medical requirements, orientation)

  • Schedule and coordinate volunteers to ensure optimal departmental coverage

  • Serve as primary liaison to departments and volunteer supervisors

  • Support volunteer programs, special requests, and recognition events

  • Assist with volunteer education, orientation facilitation, and engagement initiatives

What You Bring

  • 2–4 years of administrative, recruiting, HR, or volunteer coordination experience

  • Strong interviewing, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Workday

     

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
