The Managing Editor for Membership & Commercial Services is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, research, writing, editing, production and promotion of global publications for vacation ownership and Fractional Owners and members. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Marketing, Sales, Resort Operations, Owner Communications & Education, Social Media and IRM, to develop a comprehensive content strategy and execution plan for our brands. The role also includes strategic planning to enhance the publications digital presence, improve customer engagement, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Specific Expected Contributions
Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for our brands, focusing on inspirational, promotional and educational content across channels.
Partner with Marketing to optimize SEO to increase KPIs and lead generation.
Review current production processes, identify roadblocks, and implement efficiencies to allow for more efficient production time.
Continuous research and development of emerging technologies and tools that assist in content management and production.
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our brands.
Plan and participate in regular partner meetings to discuss priorities and key initiatives that could be supported by Editorial/Membership & Commercial Services.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external creative partners.
Manage the production, scheduling, research, writing, editing, and distribution of publications to over 600,000 owners, members and prospects worldwide.
Oversee the transition of owner newsletters to digital magazines and content hubs.
Collaborate with Creative, Digital, Brand managers, Social, and Community leaders to build and launch consolidated owner newsletters and digital content hubs.
Ensure alignment of social media messaging with VO Owner Publications and digital magazines to enhance brand digital presence and improve customer engagement.
Assists with strategy, creation, editing, and dissemination (logistics) as needed of owner communications.
Project Management Requirements:
Assign stories to Contently, TPT, or in-house copywriters and staff, project manager, supervise approvals for, and execute to completion digital publications.
In partnership with the design team, oversee the look, style, and feel of publications from start to finish.
Proof and review content, images, and layout with the design team.
Edit content for grammatical errors, brand voice, style, and tone based on style guides per brand.
Coordinate final deliverables with legal.
Writing and Editing Needs:
Craft clear, concise, and impactful messages for various audiences and mediums through presentation as needed.
Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies that engage and inform diverse, global teams.
Write and edit clear, concise, and impactful articles for owner newsletters, ensuring alignment with brand voice and style.
Identify and utilize additional content creation/management tools or software.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and contribute content for various communications deliverables.
Strategy Work:
Develop plans to execute upon opportunities and determine paths to implement recommendations addressed through digital foundry or ongoing initiatives.
Create integrated and aligned digital, technology, and marketing strategies with aligned goals and metrics across the organization.
Develop customer-centric metrics that are shared across functions and tie some performance goals to shared customer-centric metrics.
Establish workflow for new products and create new RACI/review processes for efficiencies.
Implement link out strategy with legal and enhance features and functionality.
Reinforce offerings tie back to VO for Owners and share resources internally.
Work with key stakeholders to conduct A/B testing and authentication for owner-only content.
Identify opportunities for and add gamification to increase engagement

Specific Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in digital, journalism, communications, or related field.
Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Experience
At least 5-7 years editorial experience in digital publishing environment or comparable experience.
