TITLE: Event Marketing Specialist
LOCATION: Southfield, Michigan – FULLY ONSITE (5 days/wk: Mon-Fri) with approximately 25% TRAVEL
JOB TYPE: Full-time, W2
Our client is actively seeking an in-house marketing team member to support their diverse marketing channels. As one of the largest privately-owned art galleries globally, our client is hiring a full-time Event Marketing Specialist. This role will oversee their gallery auctions and events in Southfield, New York, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, while also driving additional marketing initiatives under the guidance of their director.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate will exhibit their creativity and strong project management skills across advertising, promotions, public relations, social media, media buying, and more. As the Event Marketing Specialist, they will be tasked with monitoring expenses and determining event budgets for art auctions and events aimed at driving customer engagement, increasing sales, and elevating the company’s brand presence. They will collaborate directly with gallery partners, vendors, event participants, and the PR team to ensure the success of each auction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualize and plan the calendar of events for all galleries.
- Develop strong connections with community partners.
- Develop and implement comprehensive event marketing strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Drafts and edits internal and external communication collateral for events and have the ability to work with contractors.
- Work with graphics to provide information for print, web, postcards, etc for events.
- Manage and optimize the event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor and report on the performance of events and auctions to executive team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and internal teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of proven experience in event, retail or art gallery marketing, with a track record of success in developing and executing marketing strategies.
- Creative and can work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to professionally present marketing concepts and strategies to management.
- Proficiency in utilizing marketing tools and platforms, including but not limited to email marketing, social media, and analytics software.
- Travel to events is required, approximately 25% travel.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- A results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving measurable business objectives.
