Position Overview
We are seeking a technically sharp, highly collaborative Tier 2 Systems Support & Analytics Engineer to join our IT Engineering Services team as our primary PST region point of contact. This team acts as the advanced escalation engine for our global workforce, taking on complex technical issues that fall beyond the standard Helpdesk tier.
In this role, you will combine hands-on Tier 2 IT administration with advanced data reporting and log analysis. You will troubleshoot core systems, build operational dashboards, and perform command-line and SaaS administration to ensure secure, 24/7 global operations. Key Responsibilities
Advanced Tier 2 Support: Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues, using command-line utilities (CLIs), Git, VS Code, and backend system actions to drive rapid resolution.
Log Analysis & Reporting: Interpret raw data and query logs across multiple environments (Gravwell, Splunk, Snowflake, Hive, Tableau, etc.) to conduct root-cause analysis, perform anomaly detection, and build executive-level operational dashboards.
SaaS & Systems Administration: Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot core enterprise platforms (Okta, Slack, Jira, Google Workspace, Workday, LDAP) ensuring smooth daily operations.
Cross-Functional Handoffs: Partner seamlessly with global peers across EST and APAC to perform clean operational handoffs at shift changes, maintaining constant visibility via shared channels.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Document best practices, participate in weekly team skills-training sessions, and actively leverage modern tooling (including AI coding assistants for SQL/scripts) to optimize workflow output.
On-Call & Escalations: Join an on-call rotation for emergency escalations to maintain system uptime and global operational readiness.
Top Requirements & Stacked Skills
SaaS Platform Expertise (Must-Have #1): Advanced/Expert-level administration experience in at least one key enterprise tool (e.g., Okta, Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, or Workday).
Log Analysis & Reporting (Must-Have #2): Proven experience searching raw system logs for errors/anomalies using log aggregators (Splunk, Gravwell, etc.) and building reporting dashboards (Snowflake, Hive, Apache Superset, Tableau, or Atlassian Analytics).
Command Line & Development Tools (Must-Have #3): Strong hands-on proficiency with command-line interfaces (CLIs), Git, VS Code, and writing foundational SQL queries.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 3+ years in IT Systems Administration, Technical Escalations, or a related Tier 2/3 engineering role.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Schedule Requirement: Ability to work full PT coverage (working through 5:00 PM PT) and participate in a 24/7 emergency on-call rotation.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated capability in analyzing system trends, scripting/querying data, and driving root-cause analysis in high-impact situations.
Communication: Exceptional cross-team documentation and communication skills; adept at working closely with software and platform engineering groups.
Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience with Gravwell log management software.
Familiarity using AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., using AI assistants to draft SQL or automation scripts).
