Manufacturing Operations (WKU Intern)

Why Work in this role?
  • Will work hands on in an automotive assembly facility, with facilities engineers, quality, and industrial engineers. Also, could work with group leaders and operators. Roughly could work with 4 to 6 people.
  • Will get to work/play with 3D printing and Auto CAD.
  • Always something new when it comes to figuring out issues. Not the same old problem.
  • Will work with mechanical engineers and assist with project work on the project floor.
  • Will get hands on manufacturing operations experience.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains a system for managing office routine.
  • Assists in planning, conducting, and evaluating projects
  • Monitors programs and projects
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group
  • Maintains technical expertise and procedural knowledge
  • Keeps supervision advised of work in process
  • Assumes operational assignments as a working member
  • Assists in the coordination of special or unusual projects

Top Skills:
  • Experience with AutoCAD – 3-D and 2-D
  • Must have Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Must be self-motivated and not afraid to ask questions

Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Looking for a 2nd or 3rd year student enrolled at Western Kentucky University.
  • 0-2 years related experience required.

Location:             Bowling Green, KY | Onsite work
Duration:             12+ month Contract
Schedule:             1st Shift: 6am to 2:30pm | Will flex with student’s schedule
Minimum 12 hours per week during school year
