Position Summary:
The NIS (Nursing informatics Specialist) provides an advanced leadership role in planning, designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating clinical information systems as they relate to nursing and other clinical users. This candidate will provide leadership in the formulation of informatics strategies and role competencies that enhance the integration of technology into clinical practice.
Primary Responsibilities:
Acts as a liaison to the divisions of nursing professional development and evidence based practice and assists with project team
efforts in the design, implementation and evaluation of technology implementation in the clinical setting.
These programs will reflect sensitivity to patient care requirements, variations in clinician learning needs and optimization of
limited resources.
Assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to nursing practice and clinical Information
systems and clinical informatics competencies
Participates in performance improvement initiatives as it relates to practice and information systems.
As a member of the Nursing Informatics team, the Nursing Informatics Specialist (NIS) is an advanced degree informatics nurse
with a proven record of leading and implementing successful clinical information system projects.
Preferred Qualifications: Education/Experience
Graduate nursing degree 4-7 years
related nursing experience, preferably in a hospital setting
Clinical systems implementation experience
Licenses and Certifications
RN-BC (Informatics Nurse) Required Required
RN (NY) License Required Required
BCLS (Basic Card Life Support) Required

HYBRID, Onsite 1 days /wk. NYC
