Project Manager to maintain and optimize our resource loaded Microsoft project plan for the NextGen Finance Program:
Opportunity:
This candidate will have the opportunity to work on a multi-year Oracle Cloud Finance implementation with several seasoned program managers. This Project Manager position will play a critical role in managing our project plan in Microsoft Project Server, including optimizing and maintaining our resource-loaded project plan, tracking over 250 resources and 3,000+ tasks, assisting workstream leads with understanding the tasks assigned to their team. He/She will work closely with the Project Management Office, 15 functional workstream leads, the Systems Implementation Partner, and the NextGen Finance Program Manager. There is an opportunity to take on more project management functions based on skillset and performance.
To excel in this role, you should have a solid background in project management processes and tools, as well as excellent communication skills. Deep experience using Microsoft Project to manage a large project with hundreds of resources is essential. Experience managing a resource-loaded project plan for large projects is essential. Experience with large system implementations and a strong understanding of finance functions will be important. Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is highly desired, and experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud for financials is a plus. Experience with the Jira Ceptah bridge is also a plus.
The NextGen Finance program aims to modernize our global finance function by transitioning to the Oracle Fusion cloud financials solution. This program includes 24 conversions, 270+ integrations with approximately 40 internal and external systems and partners, and 150+ custom reports that will support 800+ business users.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Project Plan Management:
Manage and optimize our Microsoft Project-based resource-loaded project plan, which includes 3,000+ tasks, 300+ business and IT resources, and spans multiple years. Experience in resource leveling processes.
Track task completion and remaining work for all tasks, deliverables, and milestones.
Resource Management & Analysis:
Collaborate with the Program Manager, System Implementor, and Workstream Leads to analyze future resource capacity and part-time resource availability, identifying potential scheduling conflicts.
Program Collaboration:
Work closely with the Program Manager and Systems Implementor to understand program priorities, decisions, risks, and issues, applying this knowledge to resource optimization planning.
Finance & SDLC Knowledge:
Apply an understanding of finance business functions (e.g., Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Financial Planning, Controllership) and end-to-end processes (e.g., Order to Cash, Record to Report, Plan to Perform) to make informed scheduling decisions.
Utilize knowledge of SDLC key activities (e.g., testing, conversions, integrations, reporting, change management, training, and support) to manage project timelines effectively.
Change Management:
Manage a high degree of change in a fast-paced, complex, and demanding environment, ensuring all adjustments are well-coordinated and effectively communicated.
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of experience managing progressively complex and challenging projects and/or programs.
Demonstrated project management experience within formal SDLC processes and methodologies such as PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Project, particularly in resource planning and loading.
Strong understanding of finance business functions (e.g., Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Financial Planning, Controllership) and end-to-end processes (e.g., Order to Cash, Record to Report, Plan to Perform).
Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence; experience with Jira Ceptah bridge is a plus.
Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud for financials is a plus.
Experience with large, global system implementations involving globally dispersed project resources.
Leadership qualities including strategic and critical thinking, relationship management, organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and influence others.
Flexibility to quickly change direction to ensure that highest priority items are completed on time.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
Ability to anticipate potential issues and propose effective mitigation plans.
Innate capability to create order out of chaos.
Experience analyzing complex issues and delivering appropriate solutions.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and generate innovative solutions.
