  • 40-hours a week, M-F
  • Hybrid: 3-days onsite

The Proofreader/Copy Editor works with the copy team to develop messages that align with brand tone and business needs. Editing copy across all VO brands to ensure accurate and consistent descriptions. Ensures all copy deliverables meet the requirements of the business, customer, brand and legal functions. Possesses a high level of proofreading skills based on AP style standards for grammar. Delivers on time and on strategy copy as directed by the Copywriter.

The Job:
  • Responsible for the proofreading process which involves but is not limited to the grammar, style, formatting, correction, strengthening, organization, along with other modifications as needed with the intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate and complete work.
  • Ensures written messages meet business objectives
  • Understanding of tone of voice standards for all VO brands
  • Edits and refines copy to ensure timely completion of project
  • Proactively identifies and resolves problems
  • Takes ownership of projects assigned and drive to completion
  • Ability to proofread based on AP style standards for grammar
  • Retains responsibility for grammatical edits of content development, company publications and other documents needing review
  • Check written material and provide final approval before it is sent to production.
  • Correct spelling, grammar and align writings to house style.
  • Prepares the copy for conversion into printed form.

  • Impeccable spelling, grammar, usage and knowledge of style.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Research abilities
  • Spelling/Grammar: need to have a mastery of the written word. Needs to understand how a sentence is read, and how a sentence is spoken. Being proficient in language and writing style is crucial.
  • Attention to Detail: Need to make sure every comma is in place and every word is spelled correctly
