Direct Reports: Yes, 12-14 Inspectors

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Manage Inspection Team:
  • Training
  • Personnel reviews
  • Inspection arbitration
  • Inspection criteria documentation
    • Bubble drawings
    • Inspection process definitions
  • Assess capacity for production inspection coverage
  • Work with Operations to prioritize resources
Manage Inspection Tools:
  • Calibration
  • New Tooling identification
  • Generate quotes and procurement requests
Materials management:
  • Incoming inspection
  • Identification and management of products with expiration
  • Manage Customer furnished material
  • Manage nonconforming product collection and process execution
Production Evaluation:
  • Data Analysis
  • Inspection Log Review and Report Generation
  • RMA assessment
  • Manage Internal Corrective Actions
  • Manage Material Review Board
Production Improvement:
  • Initiate Process Improvement plans/studies
  • Audit SOPs as required
  • Generate Engineering Change Requests
  • Support Engineering Change Notices
  • Drawing/Documentation Review & Signoff
Product Test and Measurement:
  • Verify test performance
  • Validate test process
  • Verify CMM execution and data
  • Coordinate Tooling and measurement methods with engineering
Support the company through NADCAP certification
Support and Team with the quality manager responsible for compliance
 
  •  
Qualifications / Requirements
  • 4-year degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a quality department with a documented QMS.
  • Proficient with relevant standards – ISO 9001, AS9100.
  • Experienced with manufacturing defined by rigorous documentation.
  • Proficient at reading and understanding mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient understanding of and ability to accurately use measuring instruments.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Must have keen attention to detail and quality.

Desired Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a quality assurance professional.
  • Proficient with NADCAP standard.
  • Related military experience.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts to support surge activities.
