Job Description

Quality Technician
Onsite Address: 7221 West 350 North, Greenfield, IN 46140 (onsite 5 days)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Pay Rate: $23-26/hr
Duration: 3-6 months, Potential for conversion

Summary:
Immediate need for an experienced candidate to fill a Quality Technician position. The Quality Technician is involved in the entire course of manufacturing. They may inspect components before assembly, review trial products, test finished goods, collect, and enter data, create Work Instructions and Quality Alerts, and complete process and product audits. Within this role, they will support the organizations efforts to drive continuous improvement towards meeting established performance indicators.

Programming and inspection
  • Interpret part drawings per ASME Y14.5 and convert design specifications into inspection programs
  • Perform receiving, first article, and PPAP inspections via sampling plan or as requested by internal team
  • Perform periodic gage R&R and capability studies and present the findings to stakeholders
  • Perform task completions and records maintenance via enterprise software application.

Quality Assurance
  • Perform product and system audits in all areas as required by internal and industry (ISO:9001) standards
  • Create and control quality documents (Work Instructions, Quality Alerts, etc.)
  • Lead or support product sort based on internal or external customer request
  • Accurately record, investigate, interpret, and effectively communicate inspection, test, and quality data
  • Apply problem-solving skills (Pareto, 5Why, etc.) to support improvements in internal metrics

General Duties
  • Maintain workspace organization and cleanliness per Quality Department 5S standard
  • Perform periodic safety inspections of assigned tools, equipment, and workspace
  • Provide active support in cross functional events to ensure quality presence
  • Determine work priorities and effectively manage workload to meet deadlines
  • Complete all assigned training (Safety, Quality, Operational Excellence) by given deadline

EQUIPMENT SKILLS
  • Preference given to candidates with ability to program Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM), Instant Measuring Machines (IMM) or Laser Scanners (Polyworks); or experienced in the use of optical comparator, hardness gage, height gages, micrometers, sine bars, thread gages, advanced optical, visual, or laser-based measurement systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and/or the public. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and peers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as current technology software
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Good verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Proactive, positive, professional attitude

Education & Experience at a minimum:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Formal training or demonstrated proficiency with Blueprint reading, including GD&T methodology
  • Third party certification, such as CCT, CQE, CQT preferred
