Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Channel Operations, the Specialist of Merchandising Planning will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and tracking of  retail merchandising initiatives in the mobile category. This individual will be a key member of the Retail Channel Operations team, positioning Samsung as the leader in retail by delivering best in class customer and shopper experiences.
• Critical position that is responsible for the management of complex internal work streams to develop, implement, and maintain merchandising strategies for retail initiatives in assigned channel to ensure best in class retail experience
• Work cross-functionally and cross channel to finalize planning, cost structure, and volumes of VMD across 28,000 points of distribution
• Management of merchandising planogram tracking and asset tracking in partnership with channel, sales and product teams to optimize sales across product categories
• Own planning and implementation of display units, visual merchandising elements, digital displays, device security, and retail graphics across multiple store layouts across all channels.
• Track ROI and KPIs for planogram revenue driven via VMP to track back to strategy if POGs are working for us.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors degree (preferred) in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years experience in project management and operations for retail organization. Wireless industry a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4-6+ years of directly related experience.
• Strong experience managing complex projects and details & meeting deadlines for multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience and understanding of the consumer journey, trends and insights
• Demonstrated success in working on cross-functional teams with the ability to influence peers and others in order to accomplish objectives of multiple projects
• Excellent organizational skills to be effective and efficient. Meticulous attention to detail for production schedules/timelines and accurate communication of relevant information to both internal and agency partners.
• Ability to make informed recommendations on a thorough understanding and analysis of organizational and business objectives
• Customer focused with ability to objectively assess opportunities and adjust to customer changing needs
• Experience regularly engaging with Leadership Levels
• Must have experience in developing presentations using a variety of PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentations.

Summary:

A typical marketing analyst/coordinator is responsible for gathering information on competitors and methods of marketing and distribution.

Job Responsibilities:
Forecast and track marketing and sales trends, analyzing collected data.
Conduct research on consumer opinions and marketing strategies, collaborating with marketing professionals, statisticians, pollsters, and other professionals.
Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, or arrange to obtain existing data.
Gather data on competitors and analyze their prices, sales, and method of marketing and distribution.
Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies.
Develop and implement procedures for identifying advertising needs.
Direct trained survey interviewers.

Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent training required.
8-10 years related experience required.
