Robot Engineer / Programmer

Our client, a global integrator of manufacturing automation technology, is looking for a Robot Engineer / Programmer to join their team, based out of their Farmington Hills, MI office. Their engineers work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.


Job Description:
  • You must be a Robot Engineer with a strong background in ABB robots.
  • Must have strong knowledge of ABB's Robot Studio and are able to do basic simulations.
  • Experienced with ABB's Force Sensors.
  • Can write ABB robot programs from scratch.
  • Strong with position teaching and programming debug.
  • Debug Support with Team
  • Installation Start-Up support
  • Production Support

Skills/Experience Required:
  • 2+ years of working with Robotics.
  • Able to read Electrical and Pneumatic Prints.
  • Strong Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Very proficient with Robotic Path Teaching.
  • Complete understanding of Cartesian Coordinate System, as it relates to a robot's EOAT & Frames/Work Objects, and the ability to teach such frames.
  • Experience with Vision Systems is helpful.
  • Ability to do basic/intermediate programming in other programming languages (i.e., Visual Basic, C or C++ language).
  • Troubleshooting experience with PLC programs is helpful.
  • Must be willing to travel (sometimes this can be up to 75%)

Education:
  • Associates or Bachelor of Science in related field (BSEE, BSEET, BS Industrial Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechatronics, etc.).
  • Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.

Location:             Based in Farmington Hills, MI | Must be willing to travel (sometimes this can be up to 75%)
Duration:            6+ months W2 Contract to Direct Hire
