Position/Title: Senior Director of Finance Location: Lakeland, FL Work Model: Hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thurs onsite) Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
We are seeking a Senior Director of Finance that will play a critical role in ensuring the agency’s financial health, guiding its financial strategy and supporting long-term growth. This role will be hands on in all financial aspects of the agency’s operations, from strategic financial planning day-to-day financial management.

Duties + Responsibilities
This is a senior director role that will ultimately be responsible for all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cashflow, reporting and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership: Leads the agency’s financial strategy, helping to align financial goals with business objectives. They work closely with senior leadership to develop plans that support agency growth, operational efficiency, and competitive positioning.
Financial Planning: Lead the development and execution of the agency’s financial strategies to align with business goals. Responsible for long-term financial planning, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. Collaborate with executive leadership to provide insights and recommendations for business growth opportunities.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and manage annual budgets for the agency, in collaboration with other department heads. Lead the quarterly and annual forecasting processes, adjusting financial plans based on evolving business priorities. Monitor financial performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the executive team. Analyze financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with company policies and industry standards.
Financial Stewardship and Oversight: Responsible for the agency’s cash flow to ensure adequate working capital is maintained. Monitor accounts receivable and payable, implementing strategies to optimize cash collection and disbursements. Develop and manage cash flow forecasts to support day-to-day operations.
Profitability and Cost Management: Monitor and control costs across departments to ensure alignment with financial targets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective strategies without compromising quality. Work closely with the operations team to improve project profitability.
In addition to items mentioned above, this individual will be asked to take a lead role in the organization in several areas including:
Identify opportunities for improvement that would impact the department and/or the agency, define the processes, and assist in cross-training team members on these new processes.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide training and professional development opportunities to finance team members.
Hands-on financial interactions with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and investors. This includes negotiating contracts, managing client billing and payments, and ensuring transparency in financial dealings, all while maximizing profitability for the agency.
Support client billing and project costing to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition.
Develop new innovations for data enhancement capabilities, documentation, automation, templates, data warehousing, new technologies and more.
Support the CEO, CSO & COO by creating and/or reviewing estimates, contracts and scopes of work for new business opportunities
Supervises
This individual will be responsible for 2-4 direct reports and be asked to implement best management perspective including weekly 1-1.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA preferred.
7+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in a marketing agency or similar creative services industry.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices in financial management.
Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Expertise in financial modeling and decision-making tools, such as Excel or financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or others).
Project Management tool experience required. Experience with Workamajig a plus.
Experience with multi-currency (Canada) is a plus.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management, clients, and teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
