Sustainability Engineer Location: El Segundo, CA The Team:
The Operations Sustainability team operates within the EHS&S function which oversees employee health and safety, handles hazardous waste management, complies with environmental regulations and helps Mattel achieve its sustainability goals related to Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions as well as manufacturing waste. The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking a temporary Sustainability Engineer in El Segundo, California. This position will report to the Manager of Operations Sustainability and support projects related to energy efficiency as part of an ongoing renovation at Mattel’s tower and a fit-out of a new building. It will also support ongoing energy efficiency initiatives on the El Segundo campus that comprises of 5 buildings, and will interface closely with the Global Engineering, Global Security and El Segundo Facilities teams. What Your Impact Will Be:
Conducting an RFI/RFP for HVAC system redesigns
Requesting proposals to retrofit existing buildings with window tints to reduce heat load on air Conditioning
Conducting energy efficiency audits
Conducting RFPs for energy efficiency projects as identified by audits
Participation in other Global Sustainability initiatives as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or similar
Self-starter, open to learn new skills
Good communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficient in Microsoft Office
1-year prior work experience managing projects in an Engineering related field
Experience with HVAC or other building facilities preferred
