Job Summary
Performs complex redesign and development efforts for mechanical / structural systems to provide increased safety, reliability, and operational improvements.
Responsible for initiating sketches and notes that will evolve into detail and assembly type drawing with minimal supervision. Projects will include initial design and redesign of mechanical, structural, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Major Responsibilities:
Completes moderate to complex design projects for mechanical and structural systems.
Assists engineers with observations, field measurements, troubleshooting, problem solving, design and testing.
Vendor management.
Plans and lays out project tasks for increased productivity and effectiveness, including closing out tasks with little to no supervision.
Provides design review support.
Renews drawing for accuracy, conformity, fit, tolerance, and adherence to applicable standards of geometric tolerance, weld symbols, fit and clearance conventions, proper fastener specifications and usage, finish, radii, etc.
Researches, evaluates, and retrieves archived information, as necessary.
Qualifications
Excellent computer skills
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) understanding is required
Highschool Diploma or GED Required
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Area OR equivalent from two-year college or technical school Preferred
