Vision Engineer

Our client, a manufacturing systems integrator with over twenty years of experience providing turnkey system solutions for industrial automation customers and is looking for a Vision Engineer to join their team based out of their Farmington Hills, MI office. Engineers will work in a variety of environments and locations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, sound experience and people-skills, to effectively solve issues as they arise.

Job Description:
  • Candidates should have the ability to create machine vision inspections based on specification and scope of work.
  • Perform feasibility studies using Cognex Easybuilder, spreadsheet, Keyence laser and Keyence traditional tools, as well as Matrox DA (Design Assistance) and Matrox template programming.
  • GigE network (AIA standard interface)
  • Must have developed applications for Absence/Presence, Kitting, model inspection, barcode, and OCR.
  • Familiarity with using external lights and lighting, filters, and lenses.

Skills/Experience Required:
  • 3-5 years of experience is ideal.
  • Must be able to work alone and/or within a team.
  • Must be able to engage with customers in a professional manner.
  • Software: Cognex, Keyence, Allied Vision, Basler, Matrox, GVI, Smart Vision Lighting, AIA
  • AIA certified a benefit not a must.
  • Able to travel to customer sites as needed.

Education:
  • AS or BS in Engineering. Ideally, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineer or similar.
  • Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for a degree.

Location:             Farmington Hills, MI | Able to travel to customer sites as needed
Duration:            6+ month W2 contract
